DuWayne Nelson began his cosmetology career in 1957 at the House of Leonard’s in Madison, Wisconsin. He was then trained by the salons owner Leonard Shore. Later he purchased the salon from Leonard and went on to co-own seven salons in the Madison area. In 1979 he became a partner with his son Steve, owning two salons.
In 1994 DuWayne passed away after suffering a severe stroke. During his career, DuWayne achieved many accomplishments. Some of which include: several hair styling awards, and the only 3-time President of the Wisconsin Hairdressers and Cosmetology Association.
His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, clients, the hairstyling industry, and life itself will never be matched nor forgotten
