Reena Vyas purchased RZ & Company from Ruth and Allen Zacharias in November 2009 and assumed the reigns of the business so seamlessly that few guests even realized a transition had been made.Formerly the salon manager, Reena began working at RZ & Company as a high school student, left for a few years to pursue a degree in cosmetology and esthiology and to work at the prestigious Rocco Altobelli salon. She returned to Madison and to RZ & Company in June 1996 and shortly thereafter became salon manager, a position she held until the November 2009 salon purchase.
Founded in 1972 by Ruth Zacharias as Jolie Salons, the business quickly outgrew its original six-chair space and in 1974 the salon was expanded to 12 chairs. In 1978 the business name was changed to RZ & Company, Hair Etcetera. In 1979 another major expansion earned design and industry accolades. This began an era of major growth and expansion that continues these 40 years later. Additional salon redesigns at the original Midvale Boulevard location expanded space and services in 1986 and again in 1991 and 2000. The 2005 move to our current location again doubled the square footage, and includes 28 chairs, a luxurious day-spa and exclusive manicure/pedicure area.
Notes: Years ago I used to get my hair done at RZ and it was always great. Now I go to Nogginz but I went back to RZ in April 2009 to get a massage and I#39;m going back this Friday as a birthday treat! The Carribean massage and body scrub is divine absolutely o
