Meet Debra Flynn, owner/operator of The Nail and Hair Gallery.
Debbie’s road to owning her own salon began at the age of 15, when she worked as a shampoo girl at a local beauty salon. She became a hairstylist at the age of seventeen after graduating from Lawrence County VoTech. But she didn’t stop there. She graduated from The Pittsburgh Beauty Academy with a Cosmetology Teacher’s License. Always wanting to grow and offer more services to her clients, Debbie obtained certification in skincare from Ultissima School in New York City in 1979. When Debbie was introduced to acrylic, gel and wrap nails, she was soon working for DuBunne French Nail Products for five years as an educator in the Northeast – teaching acrylic, gel and wrap nails. Debbie opened her own salon in 1991. As her business grew, so did her skills in every way. Her natural artistic talent and ability to know what her clients needed and wanted, enabled her to change the look of her salon, the services she offered, and the total experience that her clients demand. In 1994, Debbie was honored to be named Home Based Salon of the Year by Nails Magazine, the bell weather publication for the nail industry. In 1996, she was honored again by Nails Magazine as Nail Tech of the year. Now, years after her humble beginning as a shampoo girl, Debbie is the proud owner of a full service salon.
